Very delicious food! Every meal we had was different and interesting to try. It is recommended to book a table in advance as they are pretty booked out in the evening. They answer quickly in WhatsApp. When booking the meals ahead, the waiting time was very short and the meals always super fresh!

I visited Tioman Island in May and discovered a hidden gem: Mama Foodhouse. This small but warm food hut quickly became my go-to spot for dinner every night. The food is incredibly delicious, and the owner is extremely friendly, making each visit a delightful experience. I absolutely loved their sweet charcoal chicken and nasi ayam penyet – both were mouthwatering and full of flavor. The bakso was also very delicious. Their pineapple juice is so refreshing too! I never expected to find such delectable cuisine on an island, and Mama Foodhouse truly exceeded my expectations. This family-run restaurant makes you feel right at home. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Tioman Island! You might need to WhatsApp and reserve for food earlier as they only open at 8 PM. So lucky to have found Mama’s as out of season and little choice. However, would have eaten every night anyway as the food was tasty, fresh and delicious. We pre-ordered with Cuki by WhatsApp and the food was ready when we arrived. Will miss our lovely nights here and mama and her family.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hidden gem! Just follow Google Maps and you won’t miss it. Reservation is required via WhatsApp (no Alipay/WeChat, only Visa card accepted). The sweet & sour fried chicken and sweet & sour fish soup are absolutely delicious—full of flavor! Prices are very reasonable and worth every cent. Mama cooks everything herself, then comes out with a smile, wiping away sweat. Such a warm and authentic experience. Highly recommended!

This restaurant is truly exceptional. Going to Tioman I fully expected limited food options and it being mediocre as there is very little competition. Mama's food house was recommended to us but we kept our expectations low. From the first meal we were huge fans! We ended up having all of our meals there for the rest of the trip. We would usually pre-book for dinner when we finished our lunch, ordered a different meal every time and they were all amazing. The owners are lovely and kind and the chef/waitess/main owner (Mama, I presume) cooks every meal with love, and it shows.

Probably the best restaurant in Genting, the food was really tasty (if you like veggies, you should go for the veggie plate, there are plenty), everything was perfectly cooked, +1 for the turmeric fried beef ! and the staff was super friendly, we recommend it 100% ! don’t forget to book in advance !

Sweet Charcoal Chicken – Tender, kid-friendly perfection. Ikan Assam Rebus Nenas – Fresh, tangy, insanely delicious! 2 rice & watermelon juice for just RM77—every dish was a winner! The beach vibes is so good. Highly, HIGHLY recommend… but pre-order or miss out!
